We are always on the lookout for picture books and other resources to encourage our 3 year-old Destiny Baby to develop his literacy skills. Because computers are such a ubiquitous part of modern life, we also encourage him to use the computer. It has happened naturally as he sees us on the computer and has developed a natural inclination to play with the mouse and on the keyboard. His love of the computer led us to find many great online learning resources for toddlers and preschoolers, which we highlighted in an earlier post back in August of this year. Reader Rabbit Playtime for Baby & Toddler is another great computer program that introduces children, ages 1 to 3 years old, to singing, dancing, new words, parts of the body, movement, and more. An added bonus are printable activities, which provide developmental exercises for your baby to practice while away from the computer. Any movement of the keyboard or mouse brings an instant response of colors, sounds, and motions.
