The Best Methods to Teach Science Learning to Your Toddler

We know that kids who are good in math and science can do really well in a career and in life. There is a huge demand for young people with science and math skills. The US government has a whole push to improve so-called STEM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in America’s schools to stop the falling behind that has been occurring over the past decades. The more our kids skip math and science, the more we have to import that expertise from abroad and the more vulnerable our country is to higher and higher levels of outsourcing.

So, given how crucial science education is, how do we as parents teach science concepts and the scientific method to our children? How do we reinforce the lessons they learn at school? Television can help. Whoa, what? Television? Yes! Now, before you click away and dismiss what I’m saying, there are some really terrific educational programs out there, most of them found on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) channel. When it comes to science, a relatively new show, “Sid the Science Kid” directly teaches the scientific method to kids, asking them to explore the why behind common phenomena such as a banana turning brown. It’s a lot of fun, reinforces family, and is filled with great music and an all-inclusive cast.
