St. Mary School lacks students, shuts down K-8
PUTNAM – Because of declining enrollment, the diocese of Norwich, Conn., has closed the kindergarten through Grade 8 program at 137-year-old St. Mary School, which was to begin a new year Aug. 30. The preschool of 40 students will remain open at the school, 23 Marshall St., Michael Strammiello, diocese spokesman, said yesterday.
